"Your senses are dead, I'm afraid. And this is about opening your senses." — Robert Greene
Robert Greene, on the episode
Robert Greene sits down with Chris Williamson to talk about the book that took him seven years, Sublime, a sharp departure from his previous work on power, seduction, and human nature. The pop framing of Greene is the strategist behind the 48 Laws of Power. The operating system underneath this conversation is different: a case that modern life has flattened human experience through filtering, algorithms, and ego, and that intensity has to be deliberately re-accessed rather than waited for. Greene argues the brain inhibits sensory information so you can function day to day, and that inhibition, left unchecked, drains the color out of everything from a cat video on Instagram to your own career path. This protocol pulls the concrete exercises and bodily signals Greene offers for breaking back into that intensity, not the philosophy surrounding them.

Rehearse Your Own Death To Reset Your Senses
The play
Lie down and rehearse your body dissolving in death, then walk outside immediately and experience the world as someone who has already died.
Robert Greene says
I have people lie down and feel their body sink into the ground and dissolve, until the sensation of dying is physical rather than abstract. After that I have them get up and go outside and walk through the world as if they had already died. Taken seriously, it gives everything an intensity it didn't have before.
Try this
Rehearse your body dissolving in death, then walk outside as someone already dead.
