Adopt The Fox Strategy Over The Hedgehog
Replace one rigid diet rule with a flexible principle that accounts for nuance and trade offs.
Daniel Lieberman says
Hedgehog diets are rigid, big idea approaches, like believing protein or meat is the answer, while fox thinking sees nuance, trade offs and complexity. The hedgehog approach to diet is always the wrong way because people vary and the effects are complicated. The best approach is to look at as much evidence as possible and combine the best elements of low carb, low fat and low calorie approaches rather than picking just one.
Try this
Pick one rigid diet rule you follow and identify a flexible principle to replace it with instead.
